Dr. Lisa Granato, PSY.D

My evaluation was done by Dr. Granato. She seemed welcoming and genuinely concerned with my issues. I have been seeing a Therapist in her office since. I have a long way to go. However, so far I do not have any complaints. The only downside I can see is that there is no weekend availability.

I would give 0 stars if I could. As someone with several mental health issues, I am also someone who has been able to express my emotions from a very young age, but it always felt like she wasn’t truly listening to me and just giving me textbook answers and explanations for things that weren’t even the key issues. She would allow me to talk to her for 5-10 minutes before putting me in the corner at a little table and making me do little projects that really didn’t help me with anything. It always felt like she was giving me busy work to distract me from whatever I talked to her about that day, so she could get her own work done, but never really gave me any tips or skills to use outside the office to help with my mental illnesses. Overall, my experience with her was more traumatic than helpful, and it only caused me to bottle things up more because I felt if someone who was being paid and was trained to listen to my issues doesn’t seem to care about them, then no one else would either.

There for my 6-7yr old son, who was told to sit in waiting room alone while she spoke to me for 20 min, then him alone for remainder of time where he said she barely talked and just told him to draw his feelings. I woke up sick with stomach flu and called hours before appointment and they charged $100 for my 1 and only missed appt. ever. My son did not benefit from her care at all, he has since found a new therapist where is is thriving!!! She is cold, condescending and the office isn’t warm and should friendly at all.

Dr. Granato has been extremely helpful in treating my PTSD. I have had an amazing experience with her office from her friendly staff to her professionalism and ability to give me the tools needed to lead a more pleasant life. When I began therapy I never expected to have the results that I have had. I am glad that I went to Dr. Granato's office for help with the trauma I experienced so long ago but was still impacting me daily.

Dr Granato was late for appointments, very cold and unwelcoming, arrogant and condescending. I tried to make it work with her since she sounded great on paper, but stopped working with her quickly when she shut the door in my face at one appointment. I wouldn’t recommend her to anyone.

I did an initial evaluation with Dr. Granato . I was initially hoping to have her as my therapist bc I was looking for a psychologist and not another LCSW. But she was dismissive, abrupt and borderline rude. She was very arrogant . I would never work with her - but she advised me at the eval she wasn’t personally taking patients; even though when I called for the appt . I was advised she was . She said all she does is the evals. And passes you on to a LCSW at her group . Waste of $200

Office staff is very helpful, My therapist is one of a kind.. also great help, I feel like a new person.. I would recommend anyone here, so much better then taking any meds.

You would be better off just handing your money to the receptionist and not wasting your time going in with this woman. Not to mention her office was covered in streamers, balloons, and birthday signs for her. This is NOT what someone who is having issues wants to see when they go for help. And then after the useless visit, she "strongly" referred me to someone else at the top of a list and they didn't take insurance and were $600 for a 90 minute consult. Just a money making scheme! AVOID!
