Dr. Lisa Shimada, OD

Dr. Shimada is friendly and intelligent. However, it was my experience that she and her staff did not communicate well. When taken by a staff member to be tested on a machine, the young woman gave me no verbal instruction as to what she was doing (she sat across from me behind a piece of equipment), or what I was to do and when. Thinking she was perhaps calibrating the machine, I actually looked away at one point. I imagine that affected my overall score, but she didn't retest me, or at least she didn't communicate to me that she retested me. Dr. Shimada, although clearly intelligent, talked more than she listened, a trait I do not care for in a physician. At check out, I was charged $25 more than I expected due to some type of test that again, was not communicated to me.
