Condescending. We wasted quite a few sessions.
Dr. Cherry was condescending and ineffective. He scoffed at me for trying to use well-known OCD texts to help my son. The strategies in the books were helping, but he told me to stop, so I did. My son's OCD became worse after we stopped the strategies and Dr. Cherry worked with him. After the first two visits in his office, we wanted to hear what was going on, so we organized telehealth sessions. We sat off-screen to hear the drivel that was going on between him and my son. On the fifth session, he was asking my son the same questions he had asked for five sessions. What did you do at school etc. My son said he didn't understand why Dr. Cherry was not listening to him. It was obvious to us that he was running down the clock and had no interest in actually helping my son. We now have an excellent Doctor who has helped my son tremendously. Comparing him to Dr. Cherry makes me furious.
