Condescending This review comes after hearing that I am not alone in my experience with this provider. I scheduled with this provider after receiving an ADHD diagnosis. The diagnosis came from within the same medical group. I was treated like a drug seeker. For the record: I am in my 30’s, well established in my career, and exercise with a trainer 2x/week. Ms. Ruiz did not ask me questions about my lifestyle or background. I WAS asked “have you tried diet and exercise” to manage my ADHD, which was inappropriate as I am recovering from disordered eating and under the supervision of a dietitian. She would have known that if she asked. She then suggested a podcast. When I insisted that I wanted to try medicine she continued to treat me as though I was going to go sell my pills or I wasn’t healthy enough to take them. I have not been treated with such disrespect from a medical provider since my teens. I have since moved to a different primary care provider and had a much better experience.
What went well
  • Office environment
  • Staff friendliness
  • Wait times
What could be improved
  • Didn't listen or answer questions
  • Didn't explain conditions well
  • Appointment was rushed
  • Didn't trust the provider's decisions

I found her style to be abrasive and somewhat rude. Without doing additional tests, she was obsessively insisting on blood pressure medication. I told her that my family doctor and cardiologist decided on a lifestyle approach to try first. I heard 5 times in 10mins -"stroke at 34" . She actually said to me "Better to die from a stroke than to be paralyzed and wearing a diaper". I came in for birth control pills and walked out thinking I was going to have a stroke.
