I was a patient of Marias at CITPD in one on one and group. She really gave it her all with me and the group as well. There were some really heavy moments in that group which I will never ever forget and she handled them in such a caring passionate way. I remember one member of the group was a very young woman from the bronx who still lived at home and was incredibly psychologically abused by her mother. It was devastating to hear these stories (even for me as a person with npd). I watched many times as Maria came to the rescue. She would frequently mention to this person that they should talk on zoom after the group. One time this person had gone to emergency room after (i believe taking too many pills but not sure) and the day after I listened as Maria went over the steps she needed to take when she felt that way again. I myself developed an erotic transference which i a sure we could have worked through. She had many qualities my mother was deficient in -especially temendousempat
