I said good morning as I was led into the exam room. She never turned away from the computer to greet me. When she finally came over to the exam table she shoved her badge inches from my face for a long time saying “This is my name.” Then she barked, “I’ve been doing this for 20 years!” I felt like I was being treated as a fifth grade dropout rather than someone who has more education than she ever will. I am leaving Kaiser and changing insurance plans due to her. It was very obvious she wanted to be anywhere else but her workplace that day.
