failed to properly diagnose me
I saw Dr. Walsh in 2021 as a 17 year old female. I suspected myself of having ASD and wanted to be evaluated. She performed a few hours of IQ testing, obtained personality inventories and declared me not ASD. 3 years later, I have obtained another therapist who was appalled at the amount of testing performed by Dr. Walsh. She used the numerical data from my previous IQ subtests, performed 8 more hours of testing, sent me personality inventories including ones not provided by Dr. Walsh and diagnosed me with ASD and OCD. In short, I have suffered through two years and 73 credit hours of difficult stem classes without understanding how my brain works. I have experienced endless guilt over struggling to manage school for seemingly no reason and have an academic hole to dig myself out of while figuring out what changes I need to implement in my life to keep everything manageable - a process I was impeded from starting at 17!
