A careless endocrinologist, Marie Schongar NP conducts exams in a distracted and hurried state. At Intake, I complained of constipation and bloating after eating, wondering about gastroparesis. She failed to run the necessary test, instead switching my insulin pen without a valid explanation, which only precipitated my daily glucose levels to climb and my A1C to move well above 7. Over the course of a year at follow-up appointments, the sole factor she would review was my daily schedule, otherwise genuinely dismissive and always rushed to leave the room. With my glucose levels worsening and the digestion problems intensifying, I fled Albany Med to St. Peter's, where I am now seen by a caring and attentive endocrinologist MD, who has added a weekly insulin pen with amazing results. My diabetes is finally stabilized after wasting too much time at Albany Med, worse for wear.
