Marinete Henry, NP

Have been with Marinete approximately 2 years. She is a good prescriber and is diligent about requesting blood and lab tests to measure any negative physical side effects from the medications. Her approach to therapy is based on asking questions and listening attentively, sometimes offering attention and other times withholding comment until the client's viewpoint th is clearly established. Marinette is good at unpacking issues and offering practical guidance. She often refocuses the discussion to bring it in line with the actual reality of a situation being described, offering an objective viewpoint rather than one that is simply subjective. She has often given me useful relationship advice and helped to re-center my thinking if I am mis-perceiving an issue or set of circumstances. The words that pop into my mind when thinking of Marinete's approach to her practice are kindness and empathy. She is gentle and compassionate, without succumbing to sentimentality. Two thumbs up!

Made lots of generalizations about things like dropping out of college to find myself when I left for agoraphobic reasons and felt like she was trying to push a personality disorder on top of my diagnosis of bipolar. Kept trying to put words in my mouth, very uncomfortable and stressful. Was hard to get a word in to explain myself.
