Mark's scope of practice seems not to be aligned with family therapy basics, what should be a solution-focused therapy with defined end goals wasn't do properly and turned to a totally lost of time. Mark's general energy was "harsh" rather than objective and helpful.

It seems like Mark is used to dealing with younger patients , he frequently makes childish jokes and is very dismissive. It seems hard for Mark to realize that everything in life cannot be "okay" all the time, his approach to life seems to be to deny things until they get better.
