Martha Lizarraga De Garza, APRN

I had a good np Elia Lopez but she’s no longer Ava. Optum just changed my doctor without notifying me. I changed to this doctor because she was the only female. I’m not happy with her at all. She doesn’t seem friendly, she’s short with answers and doesn’t work well for her patients. I am looking for a new health care provider since I met her.

I saw De Garza for a physical. I told her I felt a lump in my breast. Having no medical history and being 34 years old at the time she told me to keep an eye on it. I left the office that day feeling relieved at her non-reaction. BIG mistake. I should have asked for action or further tests. NiNE months later the shock and reality of what I had feared came to light. I had breast cancer. Dr. De Garza and I made the mistake or assuming it was nothing. We should have checked and conducted further tests.

I've been seeing NP Martha De Garza for quite a few years now. I go into the office for allergy shots which are administered by an assistant once a month, and I see Martha for Wellness exams, etc., a couple of times a year. Martha has been very good at diagnosing any problems and referring me to specialists when appropriate. She spends as much time as necessary and listens very well. I have every confidence in her.
