Save your sanity & your money, don't make an appointment with Martin Kuner who calls his style of therapy eclectic. A more accurate word is apthetic. My 14 year old son has ADHD, OCD, Tourette Syndrome & was diagnosed (by a dr who knows what he is doing) with depression & anxiety. In addition, I divorced my husband taking my then 12 year old son with me from our condo in Millburn. We had to live in a tawdry motel, homeless shelter & a 1 room in a boarding house over the course of 2 years!! Anyone who been through that needs therapy. After just TWO 15 minute sessions Martin Kuner informed me my son doesn't need therapy!? I explained to him my son has a great amount of difficulty expressing what is honestly bothering him & half the time due his trauma he doesn't know what he is feeling. Martin had the nerve to assign blame to my son when Martin is actually too lazy, uneducated & intelligent enough to help him. Take your psych elsewhere people, Martin could care less about helping you.

I am someone who always dreaded going to therapy. I had seen several therapists before meeting with Martin who only talked about my past & not present issues, cut sessions short, and made me feel like I was only their problem for forty five minutes a week. But, I looked forward to every session with Martin. He did not constantly dig into my past, rather he focused on my present issues and showed me how I can deal with them in different ways. Martin never cut any sessions short, and if I was in the middle of a problem when the forty five minutes was over, he would not just cut me off and say the session is over, he would listen & we would pick up exactly where we left off in the next session. I was never open in therapy, but when talking to Martin, I was only ever truthful about the way I was feeling with no embarrassment or shame. Martin Kuner goes above and beyond for his patients, and you feel like he is actually there for you.
