Mary Contreras, LPC

Josephine Santillano commented in 2019, and her situation couldn't mirror ours more. My grandkids were court-ordered to see the therapist and Mary Contreras was referred by the Amicus Attorney. We are in 2025 and experiencing the same exact situation except it is the mother of the kids that is getting the attention during the sessions. Mary has allowed the mother to call the kids liars when they state the ugly truth about her. My grandkids end up crying in these sessions, which is sinful. No one except the mother is able to get in touch with Mary or get any kind of response from her (with Mary even ignoring subpoenas). How is she still licensed with this kind of repeated behavior being reported?

Very unprofessional. It was counseling for my grandchildren but instead she is counseling the dad during their sessions after being told by us to have sessions with boys only because the dad intimidates them therefore not opening up to her. When i tried to go in also she got angry at me and refused to allow me. She said she was going to talk about the boys weekend visit with the dad. The last session we had, we did not agree on a visit, so that means that the dad has been having private sessions with her, which i feel is very wrong. I feel she is not there for the boys best interest.

It is next to impossible to schedule appointments, even when there is a strong sense of urgency/concerns due to potential danger to the child. I did read reviews prior and was not happy with the poor (public) reviews of this counselor, but was not given the choice in the matter. Knowing what I do now, I would have fiercely fought for a counselor that has a sense of urgency AND commitment to DUE DILIGENCE, which neither have been exhibited. Kids pay the price and it's very sad.
