He WAS my NP for years, until...
NP Aloi seldom looked at as he typed into his laptop, and asked few questions. If I asked questions , I got a curt answer. The one time I did get a straight look in the eyes, was when I had received the call that my better half had just passed away. I told him of the call, and he asked if I wanted to reschedule. I said 'no.'. What he did NOT tell me then or for the 5 years, was that my neck was broken due to my degenerative disc disease. It was after tiring of his dismissive attitude and lack of answers to questions I had; that I requested a different NP. It was after meeting a new NP at my next appointment that my doctor told me of my neck being broken, but a separate neurological problem delayed my neck fusion (C3 to C6) for an additional year.I am surprised to see he still practices at Upstate Bone & Joint. He either did not know I required surgery or he did not choose to tell me or my actual doctor.I remain at Upstate B&J because my doctor is one of the best in NY.

Wonderful, full of medical knowledge
Today he explained my choices for lower back pain, very knowledgeable. Both of us don’t like over medication so I will continue physical therapy. Very pleased with visit

The first visit I had with Matthew Aloi, I wasn't too sure of things, he acted like I was interfering with his time. Rushed me so I forgot to address some concerns about my spine issues. He told me: "You are at an age now where you will have pain for no reason, and nothing that can be done about it, you just have to deal with it!" I was stunned, all pain as a reason and can be dealt with. Then next visit, I felt like he was frustrated with me, and didn't want to help me find comfort that I could live with. He only wanted to push some pills on me. After a lengthy chat, and reminding him I want to find and treat the problem, rather than mask it, he consented/ordered another diagnostic. That is scheduled. So, will see if I upgrade this. I am being quite generous with three stars.
