I was told today that both parents need to sign off on the HIPPA form for me as a step parent to have access to my step child’s records. This is untrue in Ohio. My child went through something because of this child and his father is willing to give me access to put my mind at ease about the safety of my child. 0/10 do NOT recommend this unsafe and catty environment. And why on EARTH she let the other step parent in the room scream at me to shut up is BEYOND me. I was treated with nothing but disrespect and this is not the first time. Utter lack of respect for a mother, the law, or common human decency for that matter.
