Meredith Ozier, MS

Meredith struggled to listen to my concerns and could not provide what I needed in order to improve my mental health. She seemed distracted during appointments and spent a lot of time talking about herself and clients. She puts an emphasis on her training and experience, which seemed impressive during the first consult. However, there is a lack of empathy and connection. My last straw was when she began rushing my appointments by giving me one word, repetitive answers. Sometimes, we’d finish 20 minutes early because she couldn’t be bothered to provide constructive advise. She’d say things like, “we’ll discuss this next time,” with no further motive. I was too frustrated to reschedule again. I don’t recommend, especially for those with complex mental health situations.

Everything I said, Meredith turned into a story about her own life. I don’t think she ever asked me a single question beyond “how was your week?” She told me graphic information about her other patients, including their self-destructive practices. When I finally stopped seeing her, feeling worse than when I started, she billed me for thousands of dollars after explicitly telling me that my insurance was covering my treatment and I would not owe anything. Now I know to always get things in writing, but wow, I don’t generally go to therapy to get worse trust issues. I don’t really understand why she’s a therapist given that she seemed completely disinterested in everything I said and did not engage with me.
