Dr. Michael Traub, ND

Dr. Traub is a knowledgeable, compassionate naturopathic physician. I had a torn meniscus and he was able to help my knee heal with PRP injections that introduce platelet rich blood to the injury site. Most doctors would recommend surgery right away, but Michael was confident this procedure would work. It healed after several months. He also took the time to accept and get enrolled in the federal workman's compensation process for my claim, which many providers do not accept!

I saw Dr. Traub in Hilo in the 90's and working with him totally saved my life! He took the time to really tune in and recommend an alternative approach to my health concern which worked beautifully. He is super considerate, compassionate and knowledgeable. I left the Big Island for 12 years, returning 4 years ago and am so relieved to see he is still in practice! He has taken the time and energy to understand the chronic back issue and the PRP treatments have been very effective in dealing the pain, removing the need for surgery. While we are not suffering from cancer, he is considered one of the best ND’s for oncology treatment.

Great doctor, very knowledgeable. Unfortunately I have a few frustrations...he doesn't participate with many insurance companies which makes for multiple visits costly. I know his time is valuable but I feel he takes a little more advantage of time and sometimes recommends unnecessary appointments. Lately when I have gone in for lab follow ups he has been very unprepared...I have often times gone in only to leave without my results..and paying for the appointment....
