Michelle Alexander, LCSW

Michelle was my first therapist about 2 years ago. It started out well, but after a while sessions became repetitive, and I found that she was doing the majority of the talking in sessions rather than asking me questions and listening to my responses. Additionally, she kept telling me she would contact my insurance company and ensure that her practice was covered, but to my knowledge she never did, and I never got any kind of bill from her. She was often late to sessions, even absent on multiple occasions with no prior effort to reschedule. I chose to end our relationship after one of these occurrences, when her entire office was empty at the time of our scheduled appointment and she could not be reached after I attempted to contact her for an hour. After this I tried for months to attain a copy of my treatment and diagnosis record from Michelle. I called, texted, emailed, and left multiple notes in her office mailbox, and received no communication in any form. I advise against seeing.

I found Michelle on Psychology Today’s website. She is helping me learn to better cope with my bipolar disorder. I feel like she genuinely listens and cares about what I have to say. I am thankful I reached out to her when I did. With the Open Path Collective organization, I’ve been able to meet with Michelle via Telehealth even without health insurance. I highly recommend contacting Michelle if you or a loved one are struggling with mental health issues.
