I love Dr. Lightner I've seen her since I was in middle or high School, she has the best bedside manner. I fully trust her. I tend to be a timid person and she makes me feel completely comfortable and confident in asking questions about my health and or health care. questions about what is being perscribed to me or procedures of routine checks, any illness i may have etc. shes loving and freindly, takes time with her patience and always remembers details about me/ my home life, will have conversations with me during procedures to help alleviate any tension and make me feel more comfortable.

10/10 would NOT recommend! If you want a medical “un”-professional to ignore all your symptoms, concerns and deny you proper healthcare, then Lightner is the one for you! This review reflects Lightner and not Cape Fear Valley Primary Care (formerly Fayetteville Family Medical). Lightner used to be my PCP; however, after she ignored my concerns and wouldn’t even check out my primary concerns, I elected to go to another PCP; however, my mother continued as a patient until recently. I will give one example of Lightner’s incompetence/negligence and how I had to advocate for my mother to get Lightner to do anything. A few years ago, at our family’s request, my mother asked Lightner about a health concern, and Lightner’s response was it was just her age. My brother and I knew that wasn’t the case, so we wrote a letter to Lightner because we knew there wasn’t a cure for our mom’s condition, but treatment would slow the progression. She still wasn’t concerned and only scheduled one test. We believe she did this thinking it would appease us. It didn’t because we knew what was wrong with our mom due to family history, and we could recognize the symptoms and get an early diagnosis. I wrote a second letter to Lightner, and she completely ignored the letter. At this point, I set up a MyChart for my mom, and I started communicating through it because it left a digital footprint that Lightner could not ignore. Finally, I was able to get a referral, but only after I picked the specialist because she wouldn’t recommend one. Thank God that we have a competent NP in our family that helped us find a great specialist. After we finally were able to see the specialist and my mom went through testing, it confirmed that my brother and I were correct on what was wrong with our mom. She was then referred to another specialist and is receiving the treatment that she needs to slow the progression, and the specialist scheduled other tests to see if her symptoms are related to other health issues. Unfortunately, we needed Lightner to complete some time-sensitive forms since she was mom’s PCP, and depending on Lightner’s responses, we would have to see multiple specialists. We scheduled an appointment, and her office canceled it via MyChart and informed us that we had to go somewhere else even though it had to be completed by her PCP. Lightner told the staff that if I brought the form to her office, she would fill them out. We gave them a date to complete the forms. That date came and went, and she still hadn’t completed the forms. Two days prior to the official form’s deadline, I was informed by office staff that Lightner was refusing to complete the forms. Upon hearing this, I fired Lightner as our mother’s PCP. Lightner is a coward, and she didn’t even have the decency to call herself. Lightner is incompetent and doesn’t care about her patients. If you have elderly parents and Lightner is their patient, please take an active role in their health because Lightner won’t do anything to help them. Please communicate solely through MyChart because there is a digital footprint, and she cannot ignore it. Please demand referrals through MyChart. Lightner cannot recognize symptoms and will not refer you to a competent physician. Don’t allow Lightner to let you or your loved ones slip through the cracks. Remember, she works for you. ADVOCATE FOR YOUR HEALTH!!!!!!!
