Nilda Benmaor, RD

I was referred to Nilda Benmaor from my primary care physician in hopes of helping me with mild anorexia. As soon as I spoke with Nilda and reported to her what I eat in a day, she disregarded my doctor’s diagnosis because she said “This doesn’t look like anorexia because you clearly eat and a lot of times that usually means you don’t eat for multiple days.” I was very confused r at this reaction and felt that my problem was left unrecognized. When I told her about my fear of eating certain foods she recommended like bread or rice, she immediately responded with “Well that’s something to discuss with your therapist, not me.” With this, she did not make me comfortable whatsoever. To add on, she was quite approving of my 8/16 interment fasting routine because “numbers are numbers and it doesn’t matter if you don’t eat all day and intake all your calories in a very short amount of time.” For these reasons I do not recommend reaching out to Nilda Benmaor with your diet/nutrition problems
