Part 3 I need to see an anger management specialist, someone able to provide guidance on managing my triggers. If you have a referral for that, please, I would really appreciate it. Thank you My experience with the polyclinic might just be coming to an end. This is embarrassing for me. To have to go so far as to point the finger and question one's expertise is unnecessary. I shouldn't have to be writing this email, I shouldn't have to be disputing this charge. The visit did not qualify the charge.

This guy should not be in practice. I had the worst experience with him in March 2019 and was honestly too scared to leave a review until now (yes, I’ve thought about my experience that often). He interrupted me, asked condescending questions, laughed at me, and was very judgemental. I came in to get an opinion on my mental health and if I could get a prescription to help me with my concentration and memory. I was nervous about making the appointment but was sure a mental health professional would be... well professional. He was anything but. I’ve been too scared to go anywhere after seeing him. He made me feel like I was some sort of junkie looking for a handout when really I’ve had been frightened to ask for help even before seeing him and he just confirmed my worries. I cried my eyes out immediately after leaving. DO NOT SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT. How is he retiring? He should have been fired a while ago.

Came in for a third visit to request a different SSRI because I wasn't responding well to the second one prescribed to me. He was reluctant to try anything else.

I had a consultation appointment with Howes recently and I am blown away by how I feel right now. Like the other comments said, he is very very condescending and laughed when I did not know something. This is a mental health appointment and he made me feel so dumb for my answers to some of his questions. He also made a joke and said "its at least good you haven't tried to murder or chop up my boyfriend yet." Seriously, he said it just like that and laughed. So unprofessional. He also said my current job sounds terrible and made comments that were not ok. I have never experienced a Mental Health professional like this. He also interrupted me multiple times and had no empathy. He should NOT be in mental health. He is terrible. I feel worse then I did before this appointment. Save yourself and do not see this guy. Thank god he is retiring in May next year.

I found him condescending and ultimately lacking empathy. He made me feel poorly about requesting speaking about certain medications with "magic pill" references. Also made it clear that he's retiring soon, so clearly not that invested. He trivialized my PTSD symptoms, and it was clear to me that he had his own bias about my life experiences. The appointment was so short we didn't touch on many of the issues I was experiencing. He went on to make comparisons and rationalizations that made no sense. In reality, I think he just sized me up and prematurely judged me without really asking any questions or trying understand. This was my third time seeing him, and it will be my last. Ultimately, I just felt dismissed, minimized, and tossed aside.

I saw Noel for a psychiatric evaluation. He talked about his experience working with schizophrenic homeless men and berated me about my marijuana use. He minimized my feelings and emotions and was anything but present. His billing rate is also over $400 which felt absurd for a one-time appointment.

The appointment I had was a waste of time and money. He questions you on each thing you say and does not seem to care much. Within twenty minutes of meeting him, I was starting to wonder if he had several issues going on himself. Please look elsewhere if you are spending any amount of money.

I’ve never had a terrible experience with Noel - he’s always upfront & willing to work with me, even when I was experiencing unusual side effects. He’s currently working with me to change prescriptions when my new insurance caused it to become too expensive. No idea where these other reviews come from - he’s a prescribing practitioner not a shrink so I’m not sure what people were expecting.

No empathy what so ever. He trivialized all my concerns and was dismissive. Appointment was a waste of time and counterproductive. His tone was an unpleasant mixture of condescension and amusement. Needless to say, I won't be following up with him.

He clearly was not knowledgeable about many issues in psychiatry, and completely dismissed issues that he couldn't explain. He spent 5 minutes explaining how he used to work with homeless bipolar patients, and knew a lot about that, but not much else. I saw him because it was easy to get an appointment, now it is clear why. I will not be following up with him.
