A Life Saver

I found Dr. Southworth during one of the hardest times in my life, when I was trying desperately to get out of what felt like an impossible cycle of domestic violence. She helped me through every step of the traumatic events, helped me to find my way out, and helped me to recover. She will forever and always be a life saver. I don't know where I would be without her.

It wasn't until I saw another therapist when I realized how nonconstructive our sessions were. The progress I made with Dr. Southworth was almost non-existent, and she would re-enforce my way of thinking instead of giving professional advice. I feel as though her approach to therapy is not in the best interest of her patients, but to keep a steady line of income.

Dr. Southworth was an uncaring, impatient and cold therapist, which are the exact opposite traits that patients would expect or need. I was going through a difficult time and as I was trying to explain it, she abruptly cut me off and ended the session less than half-way through it. This extremely negative experience prevented me from seeking treatment for years, and I hope others consider this and other therapists first.
