Used to be a five!
I have been going to Dr. Humphreys for years. I felt they were a little higher priced than others, but the service was great, and Dr. Humphreys was very helpful. I recently went on SS, and Medicare. I called to ask what my exam would cost if Medicare didn't cover it because I am high risk for Glaucoma. I was told it would be $112. I paid $40 after the visit. So I made an appointment. They submitted to Medicare a bill for $260.Even though their own invoice shows an insurance credit of $65.01, (THEIR INVOICE!) the person on the phone says Medicare paid $0 and that is just what Medicare said is allowable, and that the $65 goes to my deductible. I was charged $154.99 on top of the $40 I already paid. But if I hadn't given them my Medicare card, it would have been $112. I asked her if that was the case specifically, and she said $112 is their uninsured rate. So I just got ripped off for seeing if Medicare would cover it.

We had a late night emergency. I got metal in my eye. I called Hoopes VIsion because they did my Lasik surgery. There office was closed, plus they were over an hour away. However the doctor on call, made a call to Dr. Humpherys, who I have never seen, and he was willing to meet me at his office at 9:00 at night to remove the metal. He was so kind and caring and did not seem bugged at all to come in late in the evening. I will make him my new provider in the Ogden area.
