She made little to no effort to engage with my toddler. She could not pronounce his name correctly and when he wouldn't respond to the mispronunciation, she insisted that he is autistic. Despite the mchat coming back saying he is not autistic, Rita called my child's new doctor and told him that we are refusing to see the autism and had the doctor an mchat screening. It was very embarrassing for us as it was our first time meeting this doctor and he had assumptions about us because of her phone call to him. Despite a second negative mchat, Rita insisted that she could test him herself and diagnose him because as a parent I must be misreporting his behavior. I don't know why she thought she knew my son better than me when she could not even pronounce his name. I told her he doesn't need a third test and she told me, 'your son isn't normal.' I had her removed as my child's speech therapist and he has an expanded vocabulary now as his new speech therapist is excellent.
