Dr. Robert Evans, PHD

Dr Evans is an excellent therapist. He has helped me work through many difficult issues in my life. He is a very good listener and gives solid feedback on ways I can approach problems in my day to day life. He is very kind and caring. And I have a very good rapport with him. I would highly recommend his services.

If you're looking for a hands on and involved therapist he's not the guy. The impression I get is that he's cramming his week with as many patients as possible so he's not particularly proactive or motivated. Wants to nod along and um and ah for 40 minutes. Often patronizing and insulting. Also spent the last phone session wandering around his apartment clanging around, it sounded like he was cleaning his kitchen - I think he was doing the dishes at one point! I had to make my first ever formal complaint of a healthcare worker. Unfortunately if you go through Kaiser your options are limited and the quality of available therapists is pretty low. I interviewed 3 therapists outside of beacon and they're much more engaged, driven and intelligent - each of them provided a rundown of the type of therapies they do and used an index to get a sense of where you are in terms of depression/anxiety and assisted in figuring out if they can help you and in what way. This guy is a waste of time.

It has been some time since I saw Dr Evans but he was a tremendous help to me at a difficult time in my life. He was instrumental in guiding me to where I am now, a happy and productive person. Despite the years he pops into my mind now and then and I recall something he said that helps me even now.
