Robert Lessard, PA-C

This provider shows little interest in collaborating and communicating with patients who have complex issues.

I was upset and disappointed with the level of care I received by Robert Lessard, PA. I came in to see him as a new patient because I have had issues with my NP canceling my appointments for the last year (for various reasons) and decided to make an appt with the next provider with availability, which happened to be Robert Lessard. I made an appt over the phone and specified with the person making the appt that I wanted to discuss chronic pain, ADHD, depression and anxiety, however apparently the only thing noted as the main purpose of my appt was ADHD and I did not have my recent ADHD evaluation with me. Robert told me there was nothing he could prescribe without the evaluation, and of course that makes sense and I said I understood and asked if I could send the eval via the Peacehealth portal post-appt and he could wait until then to prescribe anything. Rather than offering that as an option he kept telling me how little time he had to care for me today and shaming me for not coming prepared to the appt, asking how I expected to be helped if I didn't bring the proper paperwork. I told him something to the effect of, "I don't want to waste your time. Can we talk about a different issue instead during the time we have left? Chronic pain is actually my biggest concern right now. I also have mild anxiety and depression, as you probably saw from the intake paperwork." Instead of providing any concern or empathy for anything I was telling him, he just told me I should really see my general practitioner for all these issues (even after I told him how frustrating it has been that I haven't been able to get in to see my GP for the past year because my appts kept getting canceled - which had happened at least 4 times). He continued on about how the amount of time we had left of the appt (~5 minutes at that point). I felt rushed, unheard, belittled, defeated, and uncared for, and left the office in tears. I understand not every patient-provider pairing is a good match, but I am truly shocked Robert Lessard is employed by PeaceHealth after experiencing firsthand the insensitive way he treats patients.
