Ronald Gruen, EDD

Dr. Gruen was appointed by the Atlantic City Family Court to facilitate a child custody decision. He couldn’t have been less equipped for the job. Although I tried my best without disparaging my children’s father to explain the issues. Within less than a year it all came to light. Eight months after the divorce their father disappeared with no explanation and no support. About 15 months later he reappeared to explain to the court that he had a heart attack and could no longer work yet wanted to resume parenting of at the time a 6 and 4 year old. He was granted resumed visitation and yet no support. About 5 years later I requested to move out of state for work which was contested by their father yet I was granted permission. On the day I went to get the children from his home. He rushed my car and punched me in the face. I never even left the vehicle. He was convicted of criminal assault in NJ and I have a lifetime restraining. You got this one WRONG Dr .Gruen - SE

Stay away from this “doctor”. His methods and perceptions are outdated and he still uses a typewriter. Do not let this guy make decisions on your future or your children’s future. I have proven his “results” wrong and his decisions about my children’s fate would have been detrimental. I escaped his control and my children grew to be extremely successful despite his recommendations. He sides with the loser fathers when in fact it is the stepfather that have financially and emotionally supported my children. The birth father wrote of his son at age 18. His stepfather financially supports him through college. This was the opposite of Gruens “thoughts”.

Do not use this doctor. I understand he does a lot of cases for Salem County NJ. After going to him for a divorce/child custody dispute, another expert had to get involved. The conclusion was this man is totally off base, and money driven. The conclusions he came too were so outrageous. Use any other Psychologist then this one!!

I would never recommend Dr. Gruen to family or friends !

Dr. Gruen helped me through an extraordinarily difficult time in my life and for that I'm truly grateful. He's extremely kind and perceptive and incredibly thoughtful in his approach. While he has given me the tools to succeed, I still like to check in with him periodically as he's a great sounding board. The woman who runs his office is also really lovely.
