Just a Speedbump in His Day
Please find another doctor. Dr. Young's listening skills are non-existent. I felt like no more than a checkmark in a checkbox for this doctor. He put a drop in one of my eyes. I had to ask what it was for, because he is never forthcoming with information. He answered another question I had, and then he went to the door, motioning me to leave. He never examined my eye after putting the drop in. I suspect he made a mistake and just didn't want to own up to it. I felt dismissed and ignored.

Very Disappointed
I have been a patient at DO for several years. I saw Dr. Young for the first time on December 19, 2024 for a diagnosis by him of a Chalazian. He was clearly uninterested. Made the comment that he did not know why I was there as my PCP prescribed medication. I just wanted an eye expert to evaluate as my eye lid was still red and inflamed . This is the eye practice that I trust for my eye health??? Very disappointed.

Didn't share eye issues from last eye exam compared to now. I have trouble with blurry vision so I know that my script should change. Dr Young wrote the script identical to the last script. Dr Young doesn't do his own vision machine check for vision changes! An assistant did the vision machine check and didn't know what she was doing. The assistant even had me holding up the vision cards!! I have severe hand arthritis. Me holding cards didn't give a proper reading. I will NOT go to Dr Young ever again.

Dr. Young is not much help. He never once called me by my name and I met with him for all of seven minutes. A "technician" did my evaluation and then forwarded the information to Dr. Young. He took the data, wrote a prescription and I ended up with a pair of worthless glasses. From the time I arrived, until the time I left, I felt like I was on an assembly line. As far as patient/doctor interaction goes, Dr. Young is not worth your time or hard earned money. Your eyes are much too important to be left with a guy who acts like he could care less.

The lady who spoke wiith me when trying to schedule as a new patient with Dr. Abel was somewhat patient but with a definite edge. She refused to schedule me with Dr. Abel because "he is a specialist'. I told her I wanted to see an Opthomalogist but she said I HAD to see one of the optometrists first. I don't believe this is true. During our conversation I dropped my EyeMed card in my chair and couldn't find it. I will have to get a new card. She said she couldn't make an appointment withou
