During my research to find a "medical professional" for my arthritis, I read about a lot of people and I didn't put much stock into the use of vocabulary. I saw the word diet as meaning what types of food to eat. To Ruth diet means you need to lose weight. That's your problem. It has nothing to do with the actual pain you are experiencing, which she has only witnessed and not experienced. I had another doctor like her once, who's first diagnosis to everything was "you need to lose weight" and the next thing you know he's trying to sell me his book and I see him on television as their health "expert". Save yourself from further feeling bad about yourself from someone whose excuse to be mean is holding you accountable.

She motivated me to keep going and lose weight.

This was one of the most humiliating and horrible experiences with a health professional I have had in recent times in LA. Word of advice, do not seek help from someone who tells you about their book during the first 10 minutes of meeting them. Her handouts made me feel as though I was back in the 80s especially the "Don't Give Up" illustration.

She was rude, inconsiderate, judgemental, and insensitive. She made me feel as horrible after bad about my weight problem. She knows I have depression and anxiety and she totally disregarded that and made it seem like that wasn't a big deal. She doesn't relate to her patients she berates them!
