It has taken me nearly a year to write this review, but I feel it's important for other patients to be aware when choosing a provider. I saw Dr. Ranasinghe for what turned out to be an eye infection. When examining me, she was very condescending and treated me as though I had been intentionally neglecting my eye health for having developed an infection. In the same breath, she confirmed that it is possible to have eye infections without symptoms, which had apparently been the case for me - why would I fail to seek treatment for a symptomatic and painful eye infection? During my visit, she also practiced outside her scope of care by telling me that my diabetes will go away with weight loss. My (newly diagnosed and well managed) diabetes at that time was triggered by COVID, and Dr. Ranasinghe is not a medical doctor, an endocrinologist, or a diabetes specialist. Her bias is tangible and inappropriate, and she should take care to practice within her scope as that is a reportable offense.

She was patience and answer all my question about contacts. I just move down south and she a good doctor I recommend and use to check my eyes.

She refused to examine a registered nurse for a yearly eye exam. I was told by another worker in the office that “she isn’t comfortable doing your exam today”. I was told they would have to try and find “a doctor that is comfortable caring for you”. As an ER Nurse during a pandemic, I don’t get to pick and choose who I care for. I take care of EVERYONE! Shame on you Dr Ranasighe! You obviously underestimate the power of nurses in numbers.
