Dr. Sally Mayo, PHD

I resonate with these reviews. I had a very brief phone call with Dr. Mayo in which I briefly explained what i was looking for from a therapist and she was extremely abrupt, rude and dismissive. Don't waste your time, resources, or emotional energy for even a phone call with this therapist. There are so many compassionate mental health professionals, and from my brief phone call wit her, it is clear to me that Dr. Mayo is not one of those. I never leave reviews, and I am leaving a review because I do not want anyone else to have this experience.

*HIGHLY CONCERNED FOR CLIENTS* I advocate and clear understand chemisty between therapist and client is a key factor when considering a working relationship; however, without even the opportunity to determine if that could exist after Sally Mayo had been highly recommended, I left her office feeling extremely insulted from being judged and spoken to so inappropriately. Think twice about sitting with this individual or continuing to. Ask yourself if ypu have really grown from where you started.

We went once as a family due to teen issues. This was the 1st & only session in which she just spoke to us while our son waited in another room. Our issues weren't that serious, just dealing with a typical teen attitude. No drugs, abuse or alcohol, reasonably good grades. She said she couldn't continue seeing us because our situation was "too complex" for her & we EACH needed a private therapist & also a separate family therapist. Seriously? She made us feel like the worst family ever.
