I went to this location on 2.4.21 because I believed I had contact with someone who tested positive for Covid. The nurse who did the test was compassionless and gruff. Five months later, I get a bill for $271. According to Medicare.gov Covid test are FREE. After confirming that fact, I spoke with someone from Banner billing and she assured me it would be taken care of; got another bill after that. Today my insurance company informed me they had paid the bill and I was responsible for the $40 copay. After an hour of calling Banner Urgent Care at Gary & Empire only to have every all dropped I drove there and got no satifaction. It turns out that either commpassionless nurse or the incompetent person in billing failed to state it was a Covid test. Idiots. In addituon my crappy interaction, both my son & daughter in law have had terrible experiences at that location. If you value your health and financial well being, AVOID THIS URGENT CARE.
