Had my first baby with Hodges. 13 minutes of nonstop contractions after she pitocined me and left to help other birth. She told nurse to hold me down by my shoulder, onto my back, after side pushing. Told me that I couldn't eat, then described the sandwich her husband had just brought her and how she was going on break.

I live over an hour away and on the drive to my appointment, there was a traffic accident on the interstate. Traffic was stopped and I got rear-ended. Despite getting hit, poor traffic conditions, and having to take a detour, I made it to Dr. Hodges' office only ten minutes late for my appointment... They turned me away and refused to fit me in to the schedule that day. Seriously, is that how they treat their patients? Such a lack of compassion and zero understanding? I'm never going back there.

I was one of 4 women laboring with Hodges. She barely found time for me. She rushed me into pushing my baby out after she insisted I get on my back. Her nurse held me down at the shoulder after I said "NO!". Hodges then stitched me with 3 stitches, said good job and left quickly. I never saw her again. I had never met her before that moment. She was just one of the many midwives at El Rio. Thank goodness I had my husband with me on the birth of my first son or it would have been a very lonely, rushed experience with Hodges. I wish that she would have called in another midwife since she was so busy that August night.

Good listener, takes time with you and follows through

It was a horrible experience that was cluttered with confusion, constant risk and out right disrespect. I'd recommend a laboring woman stay as far from her as possible.
