Dr. Sandra Snow, PHD

I think Sandy means well but it was hard to follow any thread of consistency through the therapy my family received from her over the course of a year. One example of many: recommending my husband attend AA one week, asking why I couldn’t “relax and let him have a few with friends” the next week. Antiquated ideas about gender roles, but considers herself a feminist. Always late to appointments and frequently runs over. She ultimately did a lot more damage to my marriage than help.

Sandra Snow attempted to aid my family in a multitude of ways and provide me support. However the experience was less than helpful. As a victim of sexual assault who was seeking help and support, Dr. Sandra insisted that I was lying about my at home sexual abuse, attempted to have me repeat after her that I was lying, and tore a rift between myself and my family. Often fussing and pointing at her degrees to silence me. I now suffer from a higher degree of anxiety and ptsd and have attempted suicide unsuccessfully. I am now an older adult who can speak for themselves. I would like to remind others that there is a lack of urgency when protecting young black girls from sexual abusers. There is disbelief when they cry for help. Some can believe that black girls are more responsible for their own pain, innately more promiscuous because of our fuller features and figure. Be well, and find another doctor if you have sexual trama.

My experience with Dr. Sandra Snow has been a blessing. She has not just helped me but also my family. She is an amazing person. She is genuine and truly cares for her client!
