Sandra Thorne, LP

I just read one of the above negative reviews and I couldn't disagree more. I was honestly shocked to see a review like that and I think that Sandra does an amazing job of giving me space to talk about your feelings and headspace and I can tell she is very engaged but takes time to carefully process the whole picture before giving rash advice. So maybe that's what the person with the negative review was misreading in my opinion. Ii have noticed that everything Sandra says to me is very carefully considered and it always is profound, perspective shifting advice that I can tell she came to over time and getting to know the full picture more. She genuinely changed my life!

I do not recommend meeting with Sandra. She is by far the most unorganized, condescending, arrogant therapist I’ve ever met. She starts every meeting with “where did we leave off?” Not as a probing question, but rather she doesn’t remember. She would forget major details that I would have to tell her again and again. She does not value a marriage and seems to encourage divorce at every opportunity. Sometimes not talking to anyone is better than talking to someone toxic.

Absolutely terrible experience for family counseling. Interrupted in middle of responses, didn't provide any follow-up. In meeting with other counselors after meeting with her, we were able to discover just how ineffective her techniques (whatever they were) were. Her efforts or lack thereof contributed heavily to a make a damaged family worse. I wouldn't hire her for family counseling, does more harm than good.

I have been working with Sandra off and on for the better part of 12 years. Because of my work with her I Have gained in self awareness, assertiveness skills and communication skills. My depression and anxiety symptoms have improved dramatically overall - this is due to work with Sandra and medication and other forms of self care I participate in. Do not work with her if you are not ready to go deep and confront all that you may be avoiding. It takes courage to grow up and become capable. Sandra can guide you. She’s worked with my spouse and myself in couples therapy, my spouse sees her individually, as do my children.

Sandra Thorne was lacking in so many ways, I don't know where to start. We had her see our two children. She barely spoke to me (mother) after the session, peeked her head around the corner and said “I’ll text you”. We didn’t hear from her for two weeks. The children were confused and not sure when they would see her again and thought they did something wrong. I contacted her and she finally got back to me saying she forgot to tell us she went out of town. Okay. We scheduled another visit to talk with her about our situation and what our perspective is with our children and she decided to dive head long into my past, insulted me and my parents, and drew all sorts of other conclusions. It was the most unprofessional meeting I’ve ever had with a therapist and after that we never heard from her. I will certainly not be calling her or bringing my children to her. I do not recommend her to anyone.
