Dr. Sarah Russell, PHD

Worst counselor I've ever had. I saw her for years as a teenager, while I lived with my violently abusive parents. She never recognized my symptoms of PTSD from severe child abuse. She saw me once after my mom had beat me up (I had two black eyes, bruises all over my body, etc. it was her second murder attempt) & even though my mother admitted that she had beaten me, Sarah Russell took pity on my abuser & decided it must have been the first time my mom had ever hurt me. She decided it would be best to give my mom a warning not to do it again, instead of calling child protective services on her. This violates the code of ethics all mental health professionals are required by law to follow, and it led to 2 more years of violent child abuse for me. If I had known the laws as a 16yo, I would have called the police on her and they would have been required to revoke her license. I never could trust her. She never even asked me if this was the first time I’d been abused like that. 0 stars

Dr. Russell has been amazing in my post affair/trauma/divorce recovery process. Her calm demeanor and strategic questions have helped me work through many of the broken parts of my childhood and adult life. I have emerged feeling better, functioning better and have never felt better about myself my entire life. I can't say enough about how far I've come under her guidance. She is also amazing with children and childrens' issues. I would recommend her to anyone who asked me.
