She hosted a 6 week online class for teens who n ancient coping techniques. I tried to give feedback directly but no one called me back after two requests. I’d hoped the teen participants might have age appropriate facilitated group therapy discussing 1) anxiety triggers 2) coping efforts that did & didn’t work 3) self advocacy phrases to use in triggered social settings 4) apps for anxiety 5) exercise statistics for anxiety Instead of a more valuable teen discussion that allowed participation, the kids got no participatory redundant presentation that should have been for 5 year olds like “breathing in and out like Wally the whale” and an app “looking at a colored bobble amongst other bubbles” My mature teen actually got MORE ANXIETY fitting this in in with her finals rather than more age appropriate content and support of peers. It embarrassed her and likely made the other kids as uncomfortable too based on their expressions.
