What was originally going to be a home study recommended by my primary physician turned into an appointment for a lab sleep and CPAP sales pitch. I came across CPAPs in discussion before and brought up my concerns in using a CPAP, namely dry mouth and sterility of the device. Definitely pushy and insisted on me getting a CPAP ASAP even prior to the sleep study, which I feel is contrary to procedure?? The PA eventually persuaded me to the lab study despite the incompatibility of my work schedule (I work before 6am), and I ended up scheduling it on a Friday. Learning it would conflict with my family gathering event I intend to delay the appointment, insist on the home study, or just outright cancel it. Gonna be also reading my sales books again to brush up on sales tactics to try to counter them in the future--I just felt uncomfortable and powerless to his flawed and persistent reasoning.
