I was under Shane's care for several years at the Bone & Joint Clinic for chronic back and knee pain. Far from just prescribing medications, he took the time and interest to get to know me as a person and work within the limits of my personality to encourage and challenge me to go beyond medications to help improve my condition. Through his encouragement, I started physical therapy and my back and knee condition was significantly improved. I recommend him to anyone who is seeking real help.

Shane is a caring professional medical person who is concerned about the healing of his patients. He always takes time to listen to your condition and your complaints. He knows his patients by name and takes pride in his practice. When you leave his office you feel so much better because of his concern for his patients. He is a spiritual person who is devoted to his wife and family. If you believe in a higher being then you will believe in healing the whole man.

I have been treated by Shane for five years. Shane has been a positive force in my and my family’s life. Although I see Shane primarily for the purpose of pain management, I assure you he is not just a pill pusher. Shane always takes the time to patiently answer my questions about my current treatment or any alternatives I’ve heard of. He has instilled in me the belief that there is always another avenue. He is a listener and a problem solver, and will instill in you confidence and hope.

I came to Shane barely able to walk. I had NO quality of life. Through the years as my pain management professional, he has helped me do a complete 360°. Both mentally and physically I have improved greatly. He gave me tools and advice to work with to heal myself. I stopped needing muscle relaxers. Now I am in the process of stopping my pain killer. Shane is a wonderful, down to earth person. I really recommend that you go see him. You will not regret it!!!

I have been dealing with chronic pain for over 15 years. Shane is someone who will examine your file/records in detail, someone you need to listen to first, then ask questions. He's direct, and yes, blunt. But also attentive and genuinely cares. The first part ensures he's not BS-ing you, the second allows you to have faith you're in good hands. He invests in you as much as you invest in yourself. If it weren't for moving, I would never have given him up as my doctor.

Absolutely love Shane. He's blunt, thinks outside of the norm, strives to make each appointment and each minute count. He's conservative, probably the most conservative I've seen but at the same time, he doesn't know what 'quit' means. When he first discussed yoga, eating healthier, how I should expect to get from my body what I give to it - I thought what the heck, I've tried everything else except surgery. I'm more active now, have more energy now, and I look and feel better now - b/c of Shane

I saw him as a patient at the Bone & Joint Clinic for the first time a few weeks ago. Dr. Chiu had a family emergency and had to leave the office. Shane apologized at least 3 times for running behind schedule and making me have to wait. Most importantly he took all the time I needed. He gave me hope by explaining other ways we might be able to control my pain. When I left It was a great feeling to know I had found someone who cared.
