Dismissive
I had been working with my doctor for years and she referred me to a sleep doctor, specifically, to be tested for narcolepsy. The intake doctor said I had to do the overnight study to rule out apnea, but agreed that I seem to fit the symptoms of narcolepsy. I would have to get off my meds to do the MSLT, though. So, we did the overnight to rule out the 'low hanging fruit' before I got off my meds. After the overnight, I went in for a follow up with Shawn Hill. He was in the room maybe 2 minutes and told me I didn't have narcolepsy and that an MSLT wouldn't do any good. I had to fight him on it, and told him I wanted it even if it was just to rule it out. He eventually, begrudgingly agreed and scheduled it. I checked my documents for the visit and it officially said that he recommended weight loss as treatment.. And, what do ya know?! I got my diagnosis of idiopathic hypersomnia, based on my MSLT. How many people has he cost their answers because he recommended against testing they need

I have been a patient of Dr. Shawn Hill for more than a year. My personal experience has been great. He has good people skills, he is very direct on what he has to say but he says things in a way that he doesn't hurt your feelings. He looks looks at everything and every possibility to help you out with your problem. He's always available.
