Downplayed my Traumatic Experience
I opened up to her about a traumatic childhood experience. After pressing me for details, she told me that it was mild, and that I should be grateful that it wasn’t worse. She did nothing to help me heal, and her words made me feel stupid for even feeling upset in the first place. She also refused to entertain the notion that this experience might still affect me to this day (even though it definitely has). I have no idea how she’s still in practice.

I know I can use help and guidance, but because my issues are mostly internal and not due to significant trauma that I know of, i felt like my concerns were not significant enough for her to try to get to know me more. I ended up feeling really awkward and stupid after a while, especially because she kept looking at the clock...so I stopped going to see her. She’s a good person and knows her stuff, but I feel like I didn’t get insight or connection.
