Dr. Stephen Bell, PHD

My son was diagnosed with CNS cancer when he was 20 MONTHS old and had undergone chemotherapy, which lead to too many secondary conditions. We were worried autism was included, and because my son had significant developmental and cognitive delays, we decided to find a therapist and hoped to find one that could handle his problems. Dr. Bell is the first medical personnel that my son had wanted to be around. Normally my son would freeze up and shut down to the point I’d have to carry him out of the appointment. Doctors often referred to him as a statue. But Dr. Bell brought my baby back to life and went above and beyond any doctors, of any kind, we have ever seen and that is a LOT of doctors since 2006 to now. I only wish he would relocate to Eastern North Carolina as my son refuses to see any other therapist. So if you need your child to see a therapist, just know that Dr. Bell is hands down the absolute best. He also got my oldest to see him and my oldest absolutely refuses to see any doctor unless he does not have a choice. BOTH of my boys remember Dr. Bell vividly (they saw him from 2010-2013 and despite ALL the cognitive issues my youngest son has, he STILL speaks of Dr. Bell often!!! In a star scale of 5, I’d rate 100 stars out of 5!!!! Side note, he misses you fiercely and wish we were able to move back Alabama so he could continue to see you! Right now he just got home from an admission and could use something good (PS…all my contact info is the same (email, cell, address hasn’t changed since moving to NC if you ever want to reach out (or if allowed- this is my consent as his mother and legal guardian)
