Dr. Steven Smith, PHD

Went to him for couple's counseling and he seemed therapeutic and empathetic, but then later my experience and feelings were basically dismissed. We were in crisis; and instead of focusing on the reason that brought us there first, he chose to focus on other issues. Although they were important, the original crisis and its effects went unaddressed. He did more harm than good for our relationship. He might be a fine individual counselor, but I wouldn't recommend him for couple's counseling, especially if infidelity, sex/pornography addiction, betrayals of trust are involved. I believe he needs some further training specific to couples, before tackling these serious issues.
