Dr. Steven Sussman, PHD

We started seeing Dr. Steve when our son was 15 years old due to his ADHD and ODD diagnosis. Dr. Steve is not your ordinary out of the box usual therapist you will find out there. His method is unorthodox but the only therapy that ever worked for our son. Dr. Steve sense of humor is an acquired taste but you are warned of this first time you meet with Dr. Steve to discuss your issues and expectations. Dr. Steve is the only therapist that ever continuously check in our son even though we no longer see him for years now. Our son has ever trysted only one therapist and that therapist is Dr. Steve. We are forever grateful to Dr. Steve for everything that he has done for our son and our family.

Dr. Steve cares about his clients. Dr. Steve is always available; you can call him any time, even on weekends. Dr. Steve will make himself available. He is funny, and he uses his unique techniques to motivate the children to want to do better. I will recommend Dr. Steve to anyone who has a child with behavioral problems, and you will not be disappointed.

Dr Steve made a big difference with my 5 year old son. He was having outbursts, angry episodes, uncontrollable emotions and acting out in school. I found Dr Steve on google and when I reached out he had a wait list for my sons age group. he got back to me within a few weeks and said a spot had opened up and I was thrilled. His method is ideal for the younger kids. it really gives them an incentive to do well. My son had his ups and downs, and may have had some trouble in the beginning comprehending that he had to clean up his act for someone other then his parents, but with the point and dollar system my son has worked so hard on his behaviors and we've seen a MAJOR improvement. He makes his bed without anyone even asking him to! he thinks about his reactions and he has really matured in the time we've spent with Dr. Steve. We have been seeing him for about 6 months. They meet once a week virtually and my son is excited to get into the meeting. Thanks Dr. Steve!

Dr Steve,truly cares about his patients. Not only in his program, but also how it affects them in their everyday life. He has a genuine interest in your child's well being. He is kind and patient and a truly brilliant therapist. He is always available to answer any questions and will make time to check up on your child to see how they are responding to the program to see that your child is getting the most out of therapy.But it's not 'therapy', his approach is more laid back and way more effective that sitting in a Dr's office. See for yourself, you will be happy you did!

Our son went to Dr. Steve for maybe six months and in that short amount of time his behavior definitely changed for the better. We attended group sessions virtually, and Dr. Steve's motivational methods definitely helped not only behavior, but also respect for his parents, willingness to do chores, and even helped him become more motivated to do homework. All the while laughing as Dr. Steve's corny jokes! Dr. Steve reinforces what the parent is trying to accomplish and the kids definitely listen to him.

I contacted Dr. Sussman after doing a lot of research and it turned out to be a wise decision. He answers my question very quickly, no matter in the early morning, late night or during the weekend. He does it not because it’s his job but because he has a good heart. He cares about your kids and cannot bear them suffering.My son likes the time being with him and expects the rewards so that he tries to do better.I’m very grateful for all the information and suggestions that Dr. Sussman gave to us, which help us lot!

Dr. Steve does a great job! He keeps the kids and families engaged through his humor. He uses several different creative forms of rewards to motivate the kids. He was also available whenever needed to troubleshoot any issues or consult with us concerning our child’s behavior. I would definitely recommend his services.

Dr. Steve is awesome!! We enjoy coming to group together weekly. He really motivates my son to be the best he can be. I also love how he is always reachable and ready to help!

Dr. Steve is great!! We can always call him anytime we need help and he would get back to you asap, which most of other doctors can't do. My son has ADHD and he improved a lot with Dr. Steve's group session and he really likes it!

Dr. Steven Sussman is a excellent therapist who makes weekly sessions interesting and entertaining for both the children and parents. The children and teenagers are scored on a point system weekly on how they do at home, school, and with responsibilities which helps to change a child's behavior into a work positive one. When needed, De Steven Sussman is easily accessible by phone or email and allows gets back to his patients in a timely manner. After trying different therapists, none have helped my child as much as Dr. Steven Sussman has who I highly recommend.

Dr. Steve unique way of group therapy helped my 11 years old daughter build confidence and stay focused.What I like about him also is that his jokes are so hilarious always put a smile on everyone’s face. Dr. Steve is awesome!!

Dr Steve is great. We used his services while my son was younger and now we returned while he is older . He has a different technique to his therapy and the kids love it. He is fun! I have seen some improvements in my child behavior. In addition ,with Dr Steve I am hopeful and confident to see more improvements as we continue therapy.

Our 17 year old is a great kid, but has some anger issues. Dr. Steve has helped him in his unique style of counseling. He brings truth, honesty and REALISTIC situations that have helped our son. There is no coddling around his behavior. Our son enjoys his joke telling stories and actually looks forward to his next session. Dr. Steve's humor keeps the kids focused as long as you can have a good sense of humor, which I believe is effective for our son. The group setting helps our son knowing he is not the only kid who has anger issues. It's good to hear how other kids are coping with their issues with suggestions from Dr. Steve. CB

Our son has been going to Dr. Sussman for a year. When he began therapy, he was having severe problems at school and home Dr. Sussman's approach to therapy is unique with dramatic results. We are incredibly pleased with our son's progress which his school has acknowledged. Dr. Steve is great! The methods he uses are working and I love how he talks to kids in the group. Because it is a group setting, kids are happy to participate and talk and learn from other kids's mistakes. I love how much he helped our daughter, even though she was skeptical at the beginning and unsure if she wanted to participate. After few sessions she changed her mind and was happy to join the group every single time. We have never participated in child therapy before and since nothing we tried at home gave u any results , we are happy that Dr. Steve was able to take us, and grateful for his knowledge and warmth. He takes care of parents' spirits too! :)

We heard of Dr. Sussman from a family friend. I was willing to try anything because my daughter’s behavior was out of control. I’m just a few months here behavior and her attitude have improved. I’m so glad we came.

My daughter is 11 years old. She was very shy and lacked confidence. She had trouble staying focused and following directions. Now my daughter is popular in school, has excellent grades, and does what is asked of her after asking only once. Dr. Sussman is awesome!!!

We have been taking our child to Dr. Steve for about 8 months now on a recommendation from a local school. We were skeptical at first but over time began to see the results in our child. Dr. Steve is just what our family needed. His deep knowledge and experience with ADHD children has been very reassuring as we navigate life with a child with ADHD. One of the things we value the most is that he is not the typical therapist that can bore the hell out of the child. He delivers a firm message across, and my child actually pays attention, he listens and makes an effort to improve. Dr. Steve is also making himself available all the time which has been great.
