Careless
I HIGHLY recommend staying as FAR AWAY as possible from this practitioner. My young adult son was having virtual appointments with S. Mangano. But as a nurse myself and a mother, I’d ask about any medication changes. She prescribed my college student son a benzodiazepine (highly addictive) just days before he’d be going back to college away from home. I told him to absolutely not take it and I thank God I’m always in communication with my kiddos and that they trust that I have their best interest at heart. More likely she wanted to be my son’s drug dealer! Not to mention that this medication (side effects and its addictive capabilities) could have destroyed his successes in college! Nothing she has done has helped him. His PCP does a way better job discussing his concerns, managing his medication and also recommending changes in lifestyle, fitness, nutrition and spiritual exercises such as prayer and meditation.

Left me in the hospital!
She was never interested in talking about what was going on in my life, just “how happy are you on a scale from 1-10” and then increasing my dosage or switching my meds every time. Never gave me time to adjust before switching. I was put on 4 different meds by her, one of which was the highest dosage possible (for a 120 lb girl?) and provoked a seizure (I had never had one before and do not have a seizure disorder). When I told her I had to go to the ER at college for a seizure she told me it was not a seizure and it was not caused by the medication she gave me even though a neurologist told me it definitely was a seizure and 100% caused by the meds. She had no information to determine whether I had a seizure or not but just wanted to cover herself up. Never contacted her after that.

Her medication change nearly killed my brother. Save yourself and your loved ones for her poorly informed decisions. Also, Susan-- you have a Doctorate in Nursing Practice. Please stop referring to yourself as a physician (MD/DO). Medical practitioner title misappropriation is serious-- and leads to serious adverse, life-threatening conditions.

ABSOLUTELY ADORE THIS WOMAN!!
She has changed my families life. We have some very unique issues and she is seeing 3 of the people in our family. One member was inpatient and the doc we had there was horrific with my child. Susan immediately had her meds taken care of when she was out. She is extremely caring and listens to all the things going on. If you want a provider to just prescribe meds and not find out anything or look at medical causes for your symptoms keep looking she is not for you. However, if you truly are looking to be a better version of yourself and get through what you are going through this is the provider for you. She has been extremely accommodating with appointment times and offers them at all different times of the day. She has also referred us to other doctors we needed to see. Honestly, this woman is amazing!! Keep in mind when reading some of these bad reviews that some of these patients have serious mental health issues, some people don't want to do the work. You have to do your part!

She swtiched my medication that I was on for years. Saw this in many other reviews. I think she does this to show u she has control. She also tried making me do a bunch of unnecessary tests. She belittles you in way she treats you. She is very pushy about getting her way. I used to see my past phyciatrist at Linden Oaks once every 3 months and was about to do 6 months and Susan forced me to see her once every month for no good reason.

Positive review very good practitioner for me she helped me a great deal after my leaving a horrible psychiatrist who had me on drugs which were affecting my heart and ruining my life She was thorough and went over my chart and immediately saw I should be off the meds I was on She put me on a new combination which she has monitored closely and which has worked very well for me She is a knowledgeable careful and thorough caregiver and I would recommend her highly

Susan change my medications that I was on for years even though I had told her that I was really doing good on them. She then put me on other medications that I had problems with. I am now thinking of finding another practitioner Who will listen to me when I say that I am doing well on my medications and I don’t want to change them.

She really listens to everything I have to say. She is very knowledgable and goes over my medicines in detail with me, including any problems with them being taken with other medicines. She has saved me from possible bad interactions that way. She genuinely cares.

Susan Mangano is a joke. She does not give your body time to adapt to a new medication before deciding it doesn’t work and prescribing the next medication. She also looks up medication info (side effects, drug interactions) on her phone. Not really professional in my opinion. I do not think she really knows what she’s doing or anything about the medication she’s prescribing. She’s also always running behind. 20+ minutes on average and a few times 45+ minutes. Stay away.

After my other provider switched practices I was directed to Susan. At my first appointment she switched one of my medications without hesitation and is VERY pushy when she suggests switching medications/dosage. I expressed my concerns many times and I feel like I am not provided the proper support and I am being pushed In a direction I would not like to go in.
