My experience with Dr. Ross has always been positive. She does hold you accountable and personally I believe that is sometimes what is needed for personal growth. She also doesn't pressure you to discuss topics. And has you personally explore topics to decide if its necessary to bring them up in therapy. She does sometimes have the opinion that bringing up past experiences may not help, but will discuss them if you want. She truly is engaged and cares about your growth. I cannot recommend her highly enough.

She has all the education and knowledge to be a good provider but I felt like she is short on empathy. She repeatedly said, when I was exploring details of my partner's infidelity and lies, that "It doesn't matter!" and "You have to let go of the past" and "I guarantee there are more things he's lying about but it doesn't matter!" She literally shushed me when I tried to talk about it. Lady, I'm in the process of unraveling all of his lies and actions over a period of several years. It's not the past. It's happening right now. I DO need to know the truth about what happened. Yes, it matters. Don't enable my partner to lie to me more or make me feel crazy for asking. I felt like I was being expected to just sweep it all under the rug and get over everything instantly with no accountability or honesty from him. Extremely frustrating.

She's tired of hearing about people's problems
If you need a judgmental, 'Tough Auntie' who doesn't want to hear your sob story, doesn't have time to listen, and thinks you just need to stop complaining about your problems and pull yourself up by your own bootstraps, then this is the person for you. If you are looking for someone with empathy, who is there to listen and help you actually work on your trauma and emotional issues, go ahead and skip Dr Ross, because she is not that by any stretch of the imagination.

Kept asking me why I didn't want to work when I told her I have several health conditions wrong with me and am trying to get disability, then gave me wrongful advice about my pet's health that could've made it much worse. Then I tried to see if she could send a report to disability multiple times and her or her receptionist would never let me know if they did. It seems to me like she is just another person in the mental health field that preys on people who are vulnerable.

Dr. Ross is the best therapist I've seen in Memphis. She is very attentive and seems truly invested in helping her patients. She gives me a lot of clarity, and, I've made a lot of positive strides since I stared seeing dr. Ross.
