The concern that I went in for was quickly dismissed and I was told it was normal for my age. She then lectured me on how important it was to exercise and keep moving at my age without even asking me about my excercise habits (I go to the gym at least three times at week). When I brought up a prior diagnosis possibly related to my new symptoms she seemed surprised and looked back at my chart. She then ordered some more testing and was told that she would follow up. I received a note in my file that said testing was normal, but still no explanation for my new symptoms or concerns. I will never schedule an appointment with her again.

I left my visit in tears. I went with concerns of swelling and pain on the lower half of my amputated limb after bumping it. She spent a very small amount of time on my area of concern and told me to use an ace bandage and take ibuprofen. After that, she immediately asked if I'd like an HIV test. Excuse me? What does that have to do with the reason I'm here? She asked if I'd like pills to help me quit smoking, and asked if it was just marijuana that I vaped. I don't drink or use drugs. After that, she went into birth control and suggested an IUD no less than three times. After the first time, told her I was not interested in an IUD, but it was brought up twice more. I asked about the pros and cons of a voluntary hysterectomy, just to be ignored the first time, and on the second time I was told 'I don't know, I don't do hysterectomies'. Are you not knowledgeable on the risks or benefits? Referral? She didn't adequately address my concerns and forced her opinion about birth control.
