Wrong Diagnosis
I had a very lengthy examination, with several high-powered scopes. Dr. Tara Shakeri, OD determined I needed cataract surgery. On my surgery day, I was prepared for surgery, complete with a black marker 'R' above my right eye. The surgeon (not Dr. Shakeri) quickly looked at my chart, examined my eyes and said there is 'no way' that he could perform my surgery, and that I was not even close to meeting the need for cataract surgery. He aplogized, and stated he would be putting his own license at risk if he went ahead with surgery. While I wasn't charged anything for that day, and received numerous apologies for my experience, Northwest Eye Surgeons was not willing to refund me any part of the out of pocket expense for Dr. Shakeri's erroneous diagnosis.
