My mother had a visit with him and for a general checkup that during the exam in the Tonometer. She felt a pinch in the right eye that hurt her at the moment. Patients after these kinds of procedures are supposed to experience some irritation in the eye for about 24 hours. I am pretty sure the machine was not probably sanitized properly. However, it was already more than 72 hours with the face on that side of the eye swollen and secretion coming out of her eye. Took her back to Tewodros and explained to him about what she was going through and his suggestions was for her to and see her PCP. He stated that he was not able to do anything. He gave the choice for her to wait until all his scheduled patients for the day were seen for him to see her. It is sad because of this large Spanish community in this area cannot advocate for themselves to demand the quality of care a patient deserve. Provider like this one will act and treat patients this way because they know they wont be reported.
