From an extremely appreciative client

After being a client of Dr. Thom for almost 3 years now, I am feeling and doing better than I have before in my life. Dr. Thom listens, educates, and operates in complete candar which any person would appreciate. I was faced with being asked to switch doctors, but I refused and we worked together to find a way to make it work. I could never thank Dr. Thom enough for the difference he has made in not just my life, but in result, my family's life as well.

Dead ends
First impression was -here we go again someone telling me what I had to do, but I was really wrong. He wanted to know all about me. He really got my guard down, he really got into my head. He just seemed to know. I was so sick and just wanted to leave, but by the time he left, I was in tears. So much shame was lifted and I was filled with something I lost a long time ago- Hope!! My stay there was the most safest I've felt in 15 years. I couldn't wait to see him-everyone did. All I can say was it was the best experience I've ever had and I walked away clean for the first time in 15 uears-I send everyone there- too bad he's not single lol!

Thom is the most caring and compassionate professional I have ever had the pleasure of knowing(and I worked in Healthcare myself for 20+years). He is extremely patient and always took my preferences into consideration. He was instrumental in my journey from hopelessness and despair to a purpose filled life of peace and joy. This world needs a lot more people like him.

One in a Million
I've been struggling with mental health for my whole life. Been hospitalized countless times and even treated by Dr. Tom in the intensive care. He became my psychiatrist when I was in long term treatment. He would not prescribe for me unless I participated in counseling. He spent time sharing his insight and coaching me through some of the most difficult times. I completed treatment and now on 1/2 the drugs I used to need. I've never felt better. It's been 3 years and no relapse in my symptoms. So grateful to the whole team- you guys saved my life!!

I would highly recommend Dr. Tom. His positive attributes include his calm, caring and pleasant demeanor. He is intelligent way beyond his schooling from his extensive work in the field. His diagnosis and treatments were always correct and I have learned so much about my medical conditions from him taking the time to explain, not only what he was suggesting, but why and all the possible pro's and cons. He is the kind of doctor that is like talking to a friend. He makes suggestions based on his experience, but let me make the decision and would never push me into anything I was uncomfortable about. One thing for sure, he gave me all the knowledge and resources to make an educated decision. He has also treated some of my friends and they all shared the same experience with him as I did.

I've seen Dr. Tom at a couple different places. He is always friendly and never shames you like every other doctor I've ever seen. It's been a minute, but I remember he made me feel good about myself and helped me with my asthma and depression. Any place that he's at is usually a decent place to be. I usually don't do these kind of things but I did kind of put him through some of my hell (Sorry) so I thought I'd just let people know he's good.

After a series of self-inflicted misfortunes, I had the good fortune of meeting Dr. Tom Lumsden in the Detox Unit of Laurelwood Hospital. Dr. Tom supervised my treatment thru a difficult withdrawal from drugs and alcohol. He also diagnosed an unrelated condition and referred me to an appropriate specialist who remedied this issue with a simple surgery. Following detox I checked into a residential treatment facility. My good fortune continued in that Dr. Tom provides medical services for this facility. In the past year I have seen Dr. Tom for a number of issues; including, ligament damage, depression and an eye infection. Dr. Tom takes the time to explain medical issues in an understandable manner and his treatment recommendations have always produced good results. Significantly, he has the impressive ability to make every patient feel important. I rate Dr. Tom 5 stars. Bob C. @JMC

Thank you Dr. Tom. So many doctors will walk in, look at you, give you drugs and don't even know who you are or what's really going on with you. Dr. Tom listens, cares, and most importantly understands addiction and what addicts go through, not just physically, but all of the pain.

Pretty straightforward, one of the better ones I've gone to. Saw him for almost a year and he helped me with my depression also. Definitely not a pill pusher or your typical "Suboxone Doctor".

Thom-The PA took the time to see me and my disease for what it really was, two different things. I am not my disease. While everyone else made me feel like a number, he made me feel like a human being. He convinced me to make real changes in my life and I haven't been in the hospital since.
